  • Da Nang is taking a proactive and collaborative approach to support the ecosystem and create a clear pathway for web3 businesses and investors.
  • Key stakeholders in Da Nang that are collaborating to support innovation include City authorities (Department of Science & Technology, Viet Nam International Financial Center, DSAC as well as financial regulators), universities (University of Da Nang, RMIT etc) and private sector ecosystem partners (Da Nang Fintech Lab).
  • The VIFC is also working with multiple international institutions and firms - international collaboration and public-private dialogue will be critical to success.

Is the sandbox approach transparent, or a barrier?

  • Many leading financial and digital asset hubs globally started with sandbox models before scaling into broader frameworks – London, Hong Kong, Singapore etc.
  • A well-designed sandbox should be an enabler, not a barrier. The VIFC Sandbox is being developed using principles from other financial centres.
  • The purpose is to allow innovation to happen safely, with regulatory visibility and at the same time ensure financial stability and consumer protection.
  • Transparency, clear criteria, and predictable timelines are essential for credibility.
